Tamil Movie Review : Irumbhu Kuthirai

With an excellent actor like Atharvaa Murali and two gorgeous girls and a fierce villain with a big budget and a strong brilliant technical team, Mr. Yuvaraj Bose came up with this disaster called Irumbhu Kuthirai. It's one of those films where everything going on right track until the director planned to screw it all up. The story moves in all predictably, except for the last 20 minutes, which is a like you winning a consolation prize after squirming for an hour and half in your seats.

Having a cute Priya, hot Lakshmi Rai, funny Jeganji, and emotional Devadarshini, one can easily realize the height of the film could have gone to. But this is a BIG CRY! And the music of this film on visual, non is wachable. Anything else that have worked well in this Iron Horse? Yes. The awesome technical team. A big thanks to them. Cinematography by RB Gurudhev is stunning with the hollywoodish color and bright visuals. Gopi Amarnath was roped in for the action sequences, and he too has done a complete justice.

Credits to the editor for trimming down the film to a crispy 2 hours. Film like this totally disappoints a filmi lover like many of us. People comes to the theatre just not to see the 6 pack abs, colorful song and some wrooming bike scenes. They go into the dark room to forget the outside world for a few hours and get ENTERTAINED! But Irumbhu Kuthurai no where near to that.

Tamil Movie Review : Velai Illa Pattadhari

Velai Illa Pattadhari the 25th film for Dhanush and it comes from his own production house Wunderbar Films, had a huge expectations from the audience as in these recent years he didn't give much hit like before. This flick is directed by Velraj and it has both Anirudh Ravichander and MV Rajesh Kumar's music. The trailer and the audio have successfully generated positives vibes around VIP and it's clearly evident with the movie getting wonderful response from it's advance bookings.

The film is reportedly "A message to youths with some comedy on rising unemployed and the growing frustration for job with love". Dhanush as Raghuvaran plays the central character, as a civil engineer graduate who is still looking out for a job, while his younger brother who is in IT field already working and earning well. This rises a comparison issue at his home where Samuthrakani keeps insulting Dhanush for being unemployed. Dhanush is a type of person who wants a job in the same field as he studied for. Saranya played a role as his mother, who console him and try to boost his confidence.  And there comes the introduction of the lead lady Amala Paul as his childhood best friend, who is in love with him. This will be the first release for Amala Paul after her post-marriage with Vijay.

In a bid to make it a successful commercial film, the team has taken too much of liberties. In the process, the story becomes predictive  in the second half.

Overall it has a fantastic performance by Dhanush, Indeed it is a tailor-made role for him. Amala Pauls fits well as Shalini. Samuthrakani, Saranya, Vivek and the cute Hrishikesh have done a complete justice to their roles. And Anirudh shines again with his background scores.

There was not much scope for cinematography and editing done by Rajesh was okay.

Mini Review : Yennamo Yedho

Gautham in Yennamo Yedho

Directed by a debutant director Ravi Thyagarajan was the most successful Telugu Film Ala Modalaindi. When a widely successful film is remade in other language it's really hard to refrain the comparison assignment. Let's don't talk about the story. We will go for the cast performance.

When we compared Nithya and Rakul Preet to the character, none can forget Nithya. She's still so fresh even now you watched the original. But Rakul's actions and the chemistry workout between she and Gautham was so unnatural. And they are absolutely not the pair who creates magic like Nani and Nithya did in Ala Modalaindi. They could have choosen a better heroine for this character. While Gautham had done his full justice on the second half. Yes man!!! He improved and he really improved. Gautham has done the role as himself. He didn't try to imitate Nani in any scene for my view. Even once he had said "I did that character as myself GAUTHAM. That's how Gautham will react if he was in that situation." And Anupama Kumar done the mother role for Gautham which was originally done by Rohini. And she did so brilliantly and that was an endearing performance. And coming to Prabhu sir's character, well he is a versatile actor . He can carry out any character very brilliantly. And he was amazing!

Mini Review : Nimirnthu Nil

To digest truth it's really something really hard. The whole storyline and details stays in this fact. Nimirnthu Nil is the apt title that tells the actual fact and culture of working of the the government employees in the country. The first half is very very racy plot that even not let the audience to blink their eyes for even a second. Good touch in the performance. Where else the second half was quite draggy with some unnecessary actions and songs which they could have possibly censor to make it look more good. And it was actually missing the good rapport from the first half.

Overall Nimirnthu Nil comes strong in message to the society with it's dynamic dialogues. And coming to the finish line it will engaged you for a worth watch.

Mini Review : Ram-Leela

Well I just don't know what Ram-Leela have to do with Shakespears' Romeo & Juliet. Some people just keep on complaining that they should go back to high school and study literature back. Guess it's too much. And after all I can't say love is not the perfect word to match for this film. But I will definitely give lots of LOVE to Deepika's raw performance. The end scene actually signifies that Deepika Padukone's grand rise of the year. She just keep on proving that she's not only a pretty face actress but also super talented and something more than a boxoffice queen. Ranveer Singh shines in the moments right after the interval however pre-interval was was annoying. And in major scenes I think he over react. He needs to master the art of tuning down the energy before everything goes wrong with him. After all Bhanshali's music is rich as his is films visual appeal. But sadly he didn't realise that sometimes a song is burdensome on the screenplay. Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun was completely an unwanted song for this movie. It just bring us back to Salman or Govinda's 90's movies. Dialogues penned by Siddharth and Garima at times worked and at times seem to be forced. Over all I expected Goliyon Ki Raasleela- RamLeela to be an extraordinary film of the year, but unfortunately it's just an ordinary film after all.

Mariyaan

Usually you can't judge a film by it's leading actor but in Dhanush case you can easily say, WOW! After giving a smashing hit in B-Town with Raanjhana, finally we manage to watch him back in our own southie film after more than a year. Dhanush is actually a versatile actor who suits for all kind of character, You can see him as a school boy, then a college boy, lately a good parents boy, lover boy, a sentimental villager, and another character is just like what he did in Aadukalam which earns him too many awards including National award too. And after all a psycho who can kill himself. He always live as the character. And as for Dhanush's Mariyaan is no different. He lives and breathe as the character of an immortal fisherman.

Mariyaan deals with the story of construction fisherman who have a close bond towards the sea, as it is the place where he earns his livelihoods. He calls himself as "Kadal Rasa" which means the "Prince of Ocean". Circumstances surrounding his lady love Parvathy Menon (Panimalar) played a role of a model wife who forces him to go to Sudan.  Her performance makes you stunned. Usually Dhanush movies all known as a One man SHOW. But in Mariyaan, it's different. Parvathy's character turns out to be the strongest one in the end. For the suffering scenes for Dhanush, it's not a new one for him. As he has done many as this before.

Mariyaan means immortal and Director Bharath has shown two immortal things in this movie. One is Mariyaan and another is his love. Marc Koninckx's visuals are poetic and out of this world as he has fully exploited the wide visual canvas that Bharath Bala has offered him.

AR.Rahman has used the tunes of magical in Yenge Pona Raasa and Kadal Raasa Naan, prominently as part of the movie's background score and this will resonate in your heart. His songs for the movie need no further mention but their visual treatments is mostly similar due to the repetitive situations and its surrounding.

Finally Bahrath Bala's Mariyaan is a flaw free but the technical work and performance makes it shine more than we exprected it for. Maybe it's not everyone's cup of tea, but all for sure will love it. Mariyaan is definitely a must watch movie

150 Words Review : Raanjhanaa

Raanjhanaa -- Ppaaahh.. The best love story, I have ever watched in Bollywood films in this recent years. I think this will be the first ever Hindi movie that not shot abroad, but in Benaras!! Most stunning and out-standing performance done by the National award winner actor Dhanush. And somehow he manage to prove that movies can actually made with ordinary mens. No need six pack, fair skin and builder body. Finally he had done much better work that other South heroes who have tried their hand in B-Town films. Swaraa and Zeeshan are out-standing.. Zoya is.... oppsss.. sorry. Sonam Kapoor.. See I almost forgot her name... :P And she was too good. Now it's about ARR's music♫♫♫. Everytime, for every new movie there will be so magic in his music. And that's what he had done in Raanjhanaa too. :-) My favourite is Tum Tak, Piya Milenge and Ay Sakhi.... Cinematography by Natraj Subramaniam & Vishal Sinha is Stunning!! Ending I louveee ☺☺☺☻♥ ♥♥

150 Words Review : Udhayam NH4

Udhayam NH4 (Tamil) & NH4 Bangalore-Chennai (Telugu)

Finally the movie that I have waited for such a long time is released a week ago. And this is the kind of story that I always wants Siddharth to do or dream. Finally somehow he grabbed it already. Action-Thriller-Love..

Udhayam NH4 set largely at Bangalore. The first half moves within a very beautiful flash back and the present. Here the hero Prabhu who comes from a middle class family from Tamil Nadu, who came to Bangalore to pursue his engineering. And a Bangalore based girl Ritika ( Ashrita Shetty ) . She's the daughter of Karnataka chief minister and gets kidnapped by Prabhu and his friends.

The rest of the story watch it in Big Screen.

Review :

There is a humour in the film. The thrilling car race sequence and stunt scenes. Siddharth and Kay Kay Menon have come out with flying colors. *the thing I expected for,, yayyiiee* The action sequence truly need to be praised. Ashrita Shetty is good and appears to be a promising actress. There are few minor errors which can be ignored but poor dubbing work especially for Siddharth lip synchronization. Velraj's cinematography is excellent. GVP's music and background scores are awesome and lovely. And Kishore's editing is good. UDHAYAM NH4 is totally worth to watch.

150 Words Review : Gundello Godari

Gundello Godari
Lakshmi Manchu, Aadhi Pinnisetty, Sundeep Kishan, Taapsee Pannu

The highly talked and the most awaited Lakshmi Manchu's Gundello Godari finally on theatre List Board now. Which means it's released.

Gundello Godari a romance drama set at the backdrop of 1986 Godavari flood. GG opens with a heavy rainfall and the movie soon goes to a flash back. Which reveals the love story between Aadhi and Taapsee in the first half. Despite not having comedy, the movie is quite interesting.  The second half head to reveals the the romance between Sundeep and Lakshmi Manchu in the first 30 minutes, which seems to be slow and quite dragging at times. The the film shift back to the flooding scene. The climax was extraordinary and the camera and the CGI works and the background score in it are superb awesome and it was a visual treat to all.

Overall this film deserve all its success.

150 Words Review : Dhenikaina Ready

Okay this was the best come back of Vishnu Manchu after Vastadu Naa Raju which was released two years before. This movie DKR, is totally a family entertaining movie which comes up with a message to deliver to the audience. Vishnu has given the best performance as both Krishna Sastry and Suleiman. And Bharamanandam's scenes enjoyable. Hansika has done the role as said. Even her role wasn't penned properly. (well it's all heroines matter) Music was the main highlight in DKR. Yuvan as usual he rocks!! DKR is just another simple story. But what strikes you in the film is the treatment of subject and Vishnu's performance. A must watch entertainment movie it is! And a must say!!!!

Ari and Vivi brought the Luck to their dad :)))))

Ratings : 3.8/5

150 Word Review : Eega

Kudos to the ace director S.S.Rajamouli garu for giving us such a wonderful film and brought our Indian cinema especially our South Indian Cinema to the top level today.
Eega is all about a FLY (previous Life as NANI) who takes revenge on a rich businessman Sudeep(Kiccha Sudeep), the one who killed him in his previous life to win Bindu (Samantha). Though the screen space is very less for Nani, he did justice to his character. Sudeep as villain from the beginning to the end. And he has give an extraordinary performance and he is well in action. Samantha as a micro-artist, has shown that she too can give a well performance if the script demand it. Overall it's a movie that all should watch and enjoy. Personally I don't think another movie like Eega will be made in South Indian Cinema.
