Have Healthy Skin!!!!

Mom always tell me to keep my skin healthy and maintain a good lifestyle. Actually taking care of your skin is also about taking care of your body. These days i have started to take mom's words seriously and tries to maintain a better lifestyle. I've dealt with periods of breakouts, dryness, oiliness and skin irritation. Some skin care products can help you to overcome these problems but they're not the 100% answer for it. But your daily food intakes are playing the major role for your body and skin. Recently my friend has advice me to stop drinking color/gas drinks such as coco cola, 100+, Mountain Dew and some orange drinks. I'm so addictive to these. And she's asked me to consume some Mineral Water, natural fruit drinks, green tea other than these processed drinks. I've a very bad habit. I can't have a plain water just like that without any flavour. So as I thought of adding lime to have a taste. My doctor friend told me, 'a little gem regularly' and it's so true. And past these 14 days I've been taking 8 glasses of water per day and I really can see the differences. Water is a life source and drinking water is so grate for you and especially your skin.

Apart from water, moisturizing is obviously must, to have a healthy, beautiful and soft skin. For years I've been using Aveeno body was and believe and they are tremendously good. And for moisturizing lotion I use lotions from Rosken. It's really gentle and very good for sensitive skin as mine. And yes these both are fragrance free. It goes on extremely soft and absorb in a second. I usually moisture before going to bed and often times mid day, just because it relaxes me a bit!

Being a professional Salsa and Bharathanatyam dancer doesn't mean you don;t need to exercise. That's totally wrong! Daily you've to exercise to get your muscle tight. Usually I goes to the gym in the evening and when I don't have time for it, I do simple workouts such as skipping at home. And I loves to swim. But after all, when you're under the sun, don't forget to wear your sun protection. I always wear sunglasses whenever I'm out and for face sun protection I use Neutrogena UV protection cream. Don't forget to protect your beautiful face from the harsh sun.

And after all, don't forget to wash your at least twice a day with the face wash which suitable for your skin. I normally use Clinelle. Cleansing is so much important for face, to remove make ups. Even though you're not wearing make up, you do have environmental pollutants on your face that needs to be removed. I also use a hydrating face moisturizer like Hydro Boost Gel Cream. You can use it both in the mornings and evenings. But I love it at night, because it helps me to replenish my skin with moisture while I'm sleeping so when I wake up the next morning, I look quite fresh. It is really lightweight and it continuously hydrate my skin all day long. if you're not using any moisturizer, I would highly recommend you.

When you're doing these things your skin can't help but be happy! What are your tips for healthy skin? xoxo :)

An atoms of sick concantenation

Just a little bit, just a little bit. Aretha is wailing in my headphones. Isn't that SUCH a song to strut too. You move your hips, narrow your eyes, pout your lips.. On a ordinary silent day you look absolutely ridiculous with a walk like that but with Aretha.... yep, she is a powerful woman. And what this shrimp, who is a very sick concatenation of atoms, needs is that power.

I've been a little sickly child. First, a nasty rash that spread all over my legs. A couple of itchy and tense days. And now a big, fat, sniffy cold. A couple of snotty and cough-y days to look forward to. My body is confusing me - fever, chills, rashes, coughing, watery eyes, drippy noses. We have no fight left in us.But with Aretha, the tiny part of my soul that was slowly turning blue has dredged itself out of depression! Its a good life people!! Thank god we have happy, powerful music. Too much may be annoying..but just a little bit.. just a little bit.

Gautham Karthik : The future of Tamil cinema!!!

Gautham Karthik is easily the face of Tamil cinema. Young, youthful and thankfully, experimental, his career thus far has ranged from boy-next-door.He has managed to impress while simultaneously proved that he is capable of anything. Sellable and a youth icon, he is the heart throb of many young women. Recently, the actor, who has been out and about promoting his upcoming film Vai Raja Vai was seen on a number of reality shows on which he encouraged new talent and entertained with the new age cinema.

Despite being an actor who hails from one of the most prominent film families in the industry and being son to the most lovable and talented hero of Kollywood, the young actor holds no starry airs about himself and is always keen to indulge in requests from his fans.

Half Year Movie Pick!!

My poor blog has been neglected since I’ve joined the world of WORK. And I always promised I would never forget my roots, i.e. this very portal. In the meantime, I’ve been swamped with messages regarding my movie picks for 2015 (Jan-June). It was an interesting year for Tamil cinema. The films that made waves were ones that were expected to fail and vice versa. There were sequels, lots of action and a few surprises.

Yennai Arindhaal – The trilogy is finally completed by Gautham Menon with Ajith Kumar in Yennai Arindhaal. A must watch movie. And it wins my heart.

Kanchana 2 – The most profitable film of the year also wins my all time entertainment movie. WIN!

Shamitabh – Must watch for Dhanush and his amazing acting! Yet again he proves, that he is a star.

Meaghaman – Surprise, surprise, Arya can act. Great film which tells an interesting story

I – Why this Shankar film didn’t make the Oscar cut, I’ll never know but its simple plot of a model and her fan who become a model and the love for each other.

Vai Raja Vai – Vai Raja Vai deserves a mention. One amazing movie of the year

Uttama Villain – I was forced to watch this film but walked away wowed by the quick and unexpected storyline. Kamal Hassan never fails to impress

Oh Kadhal Kanmani– The feel good film of the year has a weak plot but with colours, great music, fun dances and a good-looking cast, you walk away feeling young and giddy

FYI, Pisasu & Darling hasn’t been watched yet but I have a feeling, it would make the cut. Neither did Anegan or Demonte Colony. Didn’t work for me.

See you at the movies this December!

I can never

bring my passion to language:

I read like the departing footsteps
of a stranger

the torn petal
of a still blooming flower,

or like a nightmare recalled
without its fear.

I read stillborn and stale
& of many miscarriages of intent.

Can I replace each word
with a finger print?

I wish I read like coal
spitting sparks from its grave

or like an icicle
sealing its fate
to a tongue

But I write
to chase myself away,

I know that
my heart, a scar worn axe
dreams of splintering

the word.
I love it when i can stare at raindrop patterns on a grimy bus window, i love it when my toes curl, i love it when i get to lick butter and sugar off my fingers when i make a cake, i love it that your cheek remains as wrinkled and soft as ever, i love the weary look in your eyes, i love the fact that i can drink the coldest lemonade in chilly weather, i love that i have two books to finish, i love that i am procrastinating getting them done.

I'm a small girl in a big world, I'm a big girl in a small world. I live both inside and outside my dreams. sometimes i imagine pressing my lips against a microphone a la Stephen Tyler. I can only crack my thumb, not any other fingers or knuckles. My hair stands on edge when its humid. Dust bunnies make me sneeze and i can re watch the things that i love a million times. I can't live without my i pod. And sometimes i can tell that YOU just know me inside out.

Small secrets that make up my day. From my wild hair to my cracked, worn out soles. I recommend you get some things of your chest, the little shameful secrets that creep out from behind your legs and the beautiful little  ones that fly off your fingertips.

If Frozen 2 directed by Shankar

Well we all knows that Frozen 2 sequel is gonna happen soon as Disney has confirmed it. Well, now let them do their part of getting ready with the actual script, while we imagine how Frozen 2 will turn out, if it was directed by the awesome director for Tamil and South Indian audiences

Director - Of coarse it's going to be Shankar. Because only he can make it. (my opinion)

This movie is a beautiful one and the entire sets are just amazing. And we know that when it comes to set design, it's only Shankar-Thotta Tharani team could make it grand and amazingly glamorous.

1. Samantha and Alia Bhatt

Who is better than Samantha to play the role of Ice Queen Elsa while Alia Bhatt as Anna the loving sister.

2. Bomb Blast or Plane Crash

Keeping in mind that this is a big budget film, it's got be a bomb blast at their guest house or private plane crash that kills the parents.

3. Anna taken away by her father's enemy

Anna was kidnapped by her father's enemy and raised in another kingdom where lately after she grown up, she got to know her real identity that she is a princess, from the Kingdoms chief security.

4. Villain's Entry

And here the main villain of the story gives his entry - Dulquer Salmaan. This evil prince tries to get all the profit from the Queen and basically not letting Anna to meet Elsa and keeping her away. And one day he tries to murder Anna by saying Elsa asked to do so. Anna manage to escape from that place and run away to her own kingdom.

5. Elsa left her Kingdom

Poor innocent Elsa leaves her kingdom after her fight with Anna, where she was accused to be so evil Queen and plans to murder her own sister Anna. Elsa leaves them with a curse of stay in a snow world for a year.

6. Anna's true love

When Anna sets to find her sister, there she meets with a roadside Romeo - Kristoff played by Gautham Karthik, who helps her. In their mission, they meet with Olaf, when he was once saved by Elsa.

7. Finally finding Elsa

After Anna and Kristoff unknowingly crossing all the dangerous paths and several missed chances, they finally find Elsa. Where she was? Well, she was gone to meet the The President of India and Prime Minister to explain herself that she's not an evil Queen and her name is Elsa and she loves her sister Anna very much and never plan to murder her.

8. Happy Ending

Elsa got back to her Kingdom while Anna and Kristoff get married and yes Olaf joins them back. And finally all live happily ever after.

Shankar sir are you reading this?? :)

DO'S AND DON'TS FOR CELEBS IN THE NEW YEAR

2015 just a few weeks away. Again let's start the do's & don't with a fresh. Well this time, this few new comers desperately need our little advice. Maybe they don't have enough guidance in this cinema industry. But we're here. So for sure we will never let them down with their past. Only the fans can give the best critics.. Not anti-fans!! Lets Begin.

1. Gautham Karthik

Boy oh boy!!! You seriously need to concentrate on your Tamil pronunciations. Your Tamil in Yennamo Yedho and in Vai raja Vai trailer sounds like something too different. People started to comment your Tamil accent, and few even saying out that SRK speaks better Tamil than you. We have no complaint against your acting skills nor dancing but all we want is a Perfect Tamil. Hire a teacher and start learning. And during shooting break time, stop playing games and concentrate on getting your dialogues right. Okay!!! I have received few complaints.

Coming to your fashion sense, my eyes is terribly tired of seeing you in white shirt. Please hire a stylist and let them design for you. I suggest you to get your #VRV stylist as your personal too. Because you're looking superb hot. :):):):):):)

[ PS : We especially 'I' love you so much Gautham anna, and you know that. I seriously can't bare when people all started making fun of your Tamil pronunciation. They're your anti-fans, so they make fun of it. But I'm not. You're someone too special for me. So I have the rights to warn and give critics about you. Sorry if i'd been harsh in the above content. Love you anna... muaaah :)) ]

2. Ashwin Kakumanu

Dear Ashwin, please do more movies. Your performance in Megha, omg!!!! You was too superb...

3. Shruti Haasan

Thanks for the comeback butterfly. Poojai was awesome and now eagerly waiting for Vijay 58. :)) You're simply rocking in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. But please sing for us.. Your music is something so special and it brings us from this world to heaven.

4. Deepika Padukone

More Kannada and Tamil movies please Deepika. You're our hudugi...

5. Priya Anand

Stop wearing skimpy dresses you sweetie girl. They don't look good on you. And please do more movies with less glamour.. You'll shine.

6. Sonakshi Sinha

Thank you sona bebe. For making the Tamil debut with Superstar. Please do more good Tamil movies in future. You a rocking queen in Bollywood, so you know how to choose the best script. And we have already seen you in the voice of Chinmayee.. And hers suits well for you. So for next movie dubbing please do consider her.

7. Rana Daggubati / Allu Arjun

I demand for your Tamil movies. or at least you two best pals do a movie together in Telugu.

Music Review : Vai Raja Vai

Btw did I blogged about any music album reviews previously?? Well I'm kinda bored to check it out... I think this is my first in Tamil. Ok yes. I did for Sid' Udhayam. Now its Aishwaryaa Dhanush's Vai Raja Vai. Why hers?? Because its so much special.. And this Aishwaryaa Dhanush and Gautham Karthik is a two peoples that are so much close to my heart.

Vai Raja Vai the most awaited musical album for this year, released today :) I will be listing out my most favourite.

1. Pookamazh

My most favourite kinda party or maybe party song.. Sang by the awesome Tanvi Shah, her voice is always the magical one for me. And the humming by Yuvan's voice is fresh. And Mr. Madhan karky's own lyrics adding up with Kambar's verses is appreciated. Can't wait for the visual now. :)

2. Naam Vazhnthidum

Okay this Hip Hop Tamizha guys is always so awesome and particularly this song they're so much brilliant. The rap they did for this song is like no one have never hear it before in Asia side. So International level.

3. Vandha Kadha

A song sang by Gaana Baala which is so different compared to his earliest ones. It comes in his style but there is a new kick Yuvan have given with his musical. Which sound too much different. And that kuththu timing.. Okay one famous actress is already dancing for this song in her vanity van now :) lol

4. Pachai Vanna

Phewwww.. Those charanam... Stirring my soul now.. (Karky sir ippadi ellam enna rombha feel panna vekkakoodathu) So fresh tune.. Melodious.. From that bombastic orchestra to Yuvan's voice.. Ok.. I love this one more that En Kadhal solla and Iragai polea... You will never love it with first.. But poga poga pidikum :)

5. Move Your Body

Wait for few more years.. I'm never grown up yet to write a review for Maestro Ilaiyaraja sir's voice.. But the lyrics written by Dhanush is always so wonderful..

Overall is a flawless album.. And I love it :)

Ratings : 3.5/5.0

I ( Originally posted by Nandini Karky )

I have been floating in the womb of work and family, these past few months, forgetting to write. The songs of 'I' have woken me from my pregnant silence and this is that newborn's first cry!

I can't say I'm a meticulous music listener. In the past, I've listened to songs that happened to fall on my ears and that was all! My interactions usually stop with the occasional quoting of favorite lines in a song or citing an interesting concept around it. But as I listened to the songs of I, taking my own time, forgetting everything I had on my 'to-do' list and letting myself go, I felt the dots connecting into something magical right before my eyes and all I wanted was to capture this ecstatic experience in words.

Let me see if I can show you what I saw, felt, touched and tasted in this album, one song at a time.

1. Mersalaayitten:  There I was... a 5 year old, jumping into a muddy puddle up and down, up and down, down and up in rhythm with the beats. The sound of the raw words in 'Madras Bashai' (Chennai slang), the sight of an omelette on a dark dosa pan as well as the rainbow colored lungi, the smell of fresh paint on the horns of a bull, the touch of a washerman's bundle of moon... So very earthy! The whole song was like clutching a handful of Marina sand and joyfully scattering it in the wind.

2. Ennodu Nee Irunthal: Wings sprouting and next minute, up there, touching the sky. Every note rises higher and higher, taking you through all the layers up above. The words help you to fit that unfathomable music just like how you fit those cloud shapes into that of a coconut, a crocodile and all that catches your fancy, in an attempt to make sense of the vast and all encompassing sky and the feeling of just needing nothing but one person in life. Now and then, catching a glimpse of the splash of colors in the horizon. Towards the end, there is a distant rumble of thunder and a feeling of getting drenched in the purest of rains, at the moment of their birth. The song ends with the words 'Ennodu Nee Illa Ulagathil Naan Vaazha Maatene' (I will not live in a world that doesn't have you with me)... and to me, it seemed like a word-perfect metaphor for an impossibility of life in this world without the sky.

3. Ladio: A blazing fire, dancing lights and sizzling heat. How better to describe a dazzling lady! Hard to see the substance when something shines so brilliantly with so much beauty on the outside. It may look like an exciting display of fireworks but it isn't just that. Look close and you will see the warmth of a campfire on a cold night in those mellifluous pure Tamil words glowing amidst the embers. Think of the fire of life, the fire in eyes that love, the fire of a heart that wants to create and you will see beyond the razzle-dazzle of her outer musical beauty, that this is a girl who will set not just hearts but minds too, on fire.

4. Pookale: A breeze... a beautiful breeze that plays with the locks of your hair in a fragrant garden; A gushing wind on a terrace that surrounds to cool you when you are burning within. 'Aval Vanthuvittal' (She is here) like the breath of a loved one! The very breath of beauty. Oh, and how she does toss and turn you around, surprising you with her touch and her fragrance.  The beauty of beauties! Like the beautiful breath of a newborn baby and the last breath of a dying man. Poetic! As this song vibrates within, it makes you wonder if you are human or the most perfect wind instrument ever invented. When the song talks about the man, it feels like a morning breeze that wakes up the world and when about the woman, it feels like the evening breeze that soothes the world to sleep. A song that truly does 'give a life, anew' ('maru uyir thanthal').

5. Ayla: By now, you must have got the 'drift'. This one is a glacial stream travelling at a racy speed, at times a leaping waterfall, at times, a cute little pond and at a turn, a deep lake and in all its forms, meandering away to be an ocean. A song of surprises. At times, you hear a pristine Swiss lake as the opera notes soar and at others, a jolly pond of 'Dandanaka' drum beats, coexisting delightfully together. The stream does wash you and makes you say 'Menmai Seythai' (You rendered me soft). Twinkling with 'Siri thuli', this is indeed, an ocean of 'smile drops'.

In my eyes, I's songs are beautifully complex and complexly beautiful as those other things forged of the five elements... This world and You and I!

Enakkul Oruvan Teaser

It's a double delight for all Siddharth fans or a tl least for me because the type of movie that I wanted from him is finally came true. First of all thanks to Siddharth for making a come back to Tamil.

With Enakkul oruvan teaser release on last Monday evening, the actor's new psychological thriller in which he appear in double role - as a theatre hall torch shine and a movie superstar. This is a remake of kannada blockbuster movie Lucia, Enakkul Oruvan is about an insomniac. And yet again, Siddharth has sung his 15th song 'Prabalamagavey', which incidentally is the background score playing through the teaser. Needless to say, it's a chic and contemporary in style.

Tamil Movie Review : Irumbhu Kuthirai

With an excellent actor like Atharvaa Murali and two gorgeous girls and a fierce villain with a big budget and a strong brilliant technical team, Mr. Yuvaraj Bose came up with this disaster called Irumbhu Kuthirai. It's one of those films where everything going on right track until the director planned to screw it all up. The story moves in all predictably, except for the last 20 minutes, which is a like you winning a consolation prize after squirming for an hour and half in your seats.

Having a cute Priya, hot Lakshmi Rai, funny Jeganji, and emotional Devadarshini, one can easily realize the height of the film could have gone to. But this is a BIG CRY! And the music of this film on visual, non is wachable. Anything else that have worked well in this Iron Horse? Yes. The awesome technical team. A big thanks to them. Cinematography by RB Gurudhev is stunning with the hollywoodish color and bright visuals. Gopi Amarnath was roped in for the action sequences, and he too has done a complete justice.

Credits to the editor for trimming down the film to a crispy 2 hours. Film like this totally disappoints a filmi lover like many of us. People comes to the theatre just not to see the 6 pack abs, colorful song and some wrooming bike scenes. They go into the dark room to forget the outside world for a few hours and get ENTERTAINED! But Irumbhu Kuthurai no where near to that.

Certainly Not

Running.. Running... and running as if like there is a fire at the back of me.

Life been chasing me past these few years. I always wonder why can't I stand up for myself and fulfill my dreams? And then once my friend said only rich and poor can achieve their dream and not a middle class as us.. We grab what we get and stuck with it.

Wait... Is she indirectly telling me that I can't achieve my dreams first step even? No.. No... No... That can't be! Aaaaaah!!!! I almost reached my dreams final stage but something came in between me and my dream and didn't let me to pursue it.

And most of the time I curse myself for not choosing the right path at the early days and left few good things
in half a way. Well just like other super students, I too choose Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and biology as my majors in 10th grade. And to complete this tag, I took up Computer Science.

Basically I am very much into religious following. So overachieving becomes my second nature. I enrolled myself into all the possible things that I could and strived to be at the best of it.

And still I am running.. And I am tired!!!!! :(

But still what is happening?

I am running a race against time. A race with a bunch of peoples who all are wanted the same thing. All I wanted to know is, how does one make decisions about life? Do they have something like Plan A, Plan B, or etc?? Why it is always easier for other to make a decision on us, but not we? There are so many constants and varibles that defines and mold what we do and what we want to do?

Help YOURSELF!

Be Still & Silent

I still remember of being bullied terribly in school. Maybe during my 5th or 6th grade. There was a constant fear for me. At that point of time finds a list of worst in my personal history. have you been discriminated against vs-vs? If yes, how did you overcome it? If you were bullied in school, did you ever come across the bully later and if yes, how did you deal with it?

And finally, are children by nature selfless or selfish? Are the concepts of empathy inborn or taught in some children? Why do some children seen kinder than others.

A friend said, be still. Be silent. Maybe we can be glad that we didn't sully our thought and our tongue by saying things we didn't mean. To not react to dishonestly that plays out right in front of us. To not to react to unkindness or any sort of a situation that we may deem unpleasant. Easier said than done, to not to react to an accusation. I can say that and still react the next moment if something irritates me.

But for now, may be the answer is in being still. Being silent.

Familiar Strangers

Well who are these familiar strangers in our lives? Hmm... Sometimes ago, they was our best friend or at least a friend. But now, why strangers? Well some peoples used to say, Hey!! I was Rubini's friend once. But not now.. Well this concept is certainly very easy. Either I must have done something wrong to them or they to me. All we need is some understanding. And to be honest, I'm not really an out-spoken person. I need to know about you well, so the I can share my certain matter with you without any hesitations. But after everything is done, all kind of backstabbing and shitty talks, is it easy to forget and forgive? We can forgive, but is forget can really happen that easily? When we get hurt with lots of words, directly and indirectly? Anyone can forgive, but no one can forget!

Even the god forgives you, for the mistakes you have done, but he don't forget. And that's why they have Chitragupthan over there with the noble Yama Dharma Raja, to list down all our mistakes.

The supreme god, Lord Vishnu, he forgives, but won't forget. Jesus, father of the universe he forgives but won't forget.. Allah swt forgives but never forget.. That's why Heaven and Hell still exist..

Forget is not an easy task actually!!
